Dr. A. Y. Virani is a Vitreoretinal Surgeon (Eye Surgeon) at Visionary Retina Centre,Thane and Fortis Hospital Mulund and has an experience of 16 years in this field.   He completed his M.B.B.S fromthe prestigious Seth G.S Medical College and K.E.M Hospital and MS – Ophthalmology from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Sion,Mumbai in 2007,FRCS – General Surgery from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (RCPS), Glasgow in 2013 and DOMS and DNB from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Sion,Mumbai .He has completed his retina fellowship from renowned L V Prasad Eye Institute,Hyderabad and then worked as a consultant in Ratan Jyoti Netralaya  Gwalior with Dr Dhananjay Shukla,a pioneer and well known figure  in retina .  His article on malignant hypertension  has featured  in New England Journal  of Medicine  (NEJM) which has impact factor of 55 one of the top  journals   He is a member of the All India Ophthalmological Society, Bombay Ophthalmological Society and Thane Ophthalmic Association .
